Researching volunteering in children’s homes in the West Midlands

We’re delighted to be working with the Children’s Society in 2014 to explore the value of volunteering to two youth clubs in Birmingham and Coventry. The two youth clubs provide social and emotional support for young people who are seeking asylum in the UK through weekly drop-in and one-to-one counselling sessions. We’ll be mapping the activities that volunteers are involved with and exploring what the added-value of their contribution is over and above what a paid staff member can contribute, as well as drawing out learning for other Children’s Society youth clubs throughout the country.
