Joanna joined IVR in 2005 and is Senior Research Officer. She leads the agency’s work on volunteering impact assessment, undertaking impact evaluations and providing support to organisations to help them assess the difference their volunteers make. Alongside impact assessment, Joanna’s particular research interests lie in volunteer management and youth engagement. During her time with IVR, Jo has undertaken research projects and evaluations with a wide range of organisations including Crisis, City Year, the National Trust, the Natural History Museum and The National Offender Management Service.
Previously, Joanna worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Westminster where she undertook research on social exclusion. In 2001 she completed her Master’s Degree at the Ohio State University where she specialised in social movements.
She is currently a reviewer for the International Journal of Volunteer Administration (IJOVA).
