Andy Curtis

andy curtisAndy is Senior Research Officer at IVR. He joined in 2012 and is working on the Big Lottery Fund research project Volunteering for Stronger Communities and the evaluation of the vCashpoint programme delivered by vInspired.

Andy has worked in research roles in the education and non-profit sectors for over ten years. This includes looking at the student experience at Southampton Solent University and Roehampton University and conducting a variety of education focused projects funded by the Sutton Trust whilst at the Institute of Education, University of London.  He led evaluations of government grant and empowerment programmes at the Community Development Foundation. More recently he conducted a research project looking at homeless young people’s experience of education and work for the charity Centrepoint.

He completed his PhD in 2007 at the University of Southampton. His thesis explored the concept of 'social capital' and its relationship with civic engagement. Andy is involved in various arts and theatre groups in London.
