The Institute for Volunteering Research is a research consultancy agency specialising in volunteering. Since 1997, we have been:

Connecting theory and practice. We are an initiative of Volunteering England and have excellent links to academic networks and university departments, including a research partnership with Birkbeck, University of London and a new partnership with Northumbria University.

Conducting research and evaluations. We have completed work for a wide range of clients across all three sectors, from the UN to the Home Office, the National Trust to Natural England, and Barclays to v.

Providing an evidence hub. We publish our research online in our Evidence Bank, home to more than 200 reports on volunteering.

Disseminating knowledge and improving understanding. We regularly publish academic articles, speak at conferences and organise our own events on volunteering.
