Mentoring and Befriending Evaluation Support (London)
This project is funded by the City Bridge Trust. It aims to increase the evaluation and learning capability of London based mentoring and befriending projects and build a resource of relevant outcomes and appropriate monitoring and evaluation techniques. It builds on learning from a project conducted by the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation between 2012 and 2014.
The Mentoring and Befriending Foundation’s core services became part of NCVO in 2015.
What the project is trying to achieve
Develop an online outcomes and outcome measurement resource
This will help mentoring and befriending projects to identify appropriate outcomes and outcome measures as well as providing access to and guidance on choosing suitable monitoring and evaluation tools.
Provide monitoring and evaluation training for mentoring and befriending projects
This will enable organisations running mentoring and befriending projects to more effectively interpret and analyse the information they collect for monitoring and evaluation purposes
Offer bespoke support on monitoring and evaluation
This one-to-one advice and support for organisations will help them understand the best approach to monitoring and evaluation for their project, and support them to come up with solutions to their monitoring and evaluation challenges.
What will happen in the first stage of the project (October 2015 – Spring 2016)
Monitoring and evaluation support
We will help to build skills in organisations to measure outcomes by offering advice and support.
We’ll deliver bespoke monitoring and evaluation support and training throughout the life of the project, starting in October 2015.
Online outcomes measurement resource
We will be giving projects access to useful resources made available online, drawing on the earlier project and our own research and knowledge.
Following groundwork conducted between September and December, we will build an online outcomes measurement resource to be launched in spring 2016.
