New research into the impact of environmental volunteering

This research, commissioned by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), will assess and summarise the evidence about the impact of environmental volunteering schemes. It will also examine the attributes of schemes that have successfully engaged local participants, particularly groups that are under-represented in environmental volunteering projects. To do this, IVR is working in partnership with Greenstreet Bermen to carry out a Rapid Evidence Assessment. The resultant evidence base will help improve advice to organisations involving environmental volunteers and will feed in to the forthcoming Natural Environment White Paper when the project reports in June 2011.
