Dr Georgina Brewis
Georgina Brewis is a researcher specialising in the contemporary and historical study of youth, education and voluntary action. In 2010 she was Head of Research at the Institute for Volunteering Research, where she led research into volunteer management – published as Valuing Volunteer Management Skills – and student volunteering – published as Bursting the Bubble: Students Volunteering and the Community. Georgina also worked at IVR in 2003-2005.
She is now a John Adams Research Fellow at the Institute of Education, University of London where she is completing a book on the history of volunteering and social action by university students. She has taught on history and social policy courses at the University of East London and the University of Surrey and is a committee member of the Voluntary Action History Society.
