Dr Helen Kara

Helen has been an independent researcher based in Staffordshire since 1999. As director of We Research It Ltd she leads research and evaluation projects for statutory and third sector organisations and partnerships at local, regional, and national levels. Clients include The Charity Commission, Staffordshire County Council, and the Beth Johnson Foundation.

Helen has written two books on research methodology, Research and Evaluation for Busy Practitioners: A Time-Saving Guide, and Creative Research Methods for the Social Sciences: A Practical Guide. Her work is regularly published in academic journals, and she frequently speaks and teaches on research methods.

Helen is a board member of the UK and Ireland Social Research Association, and she leads on research ethics. She is a visiting fellow at the UK's National Centre for Research Methods, and an associate research fellow at the Third Sector Research Centre, University of Birmingham.
